The story of Mulgi Mängula
Mängula was born from a simple wish to create a place in Tõrva too, where children and families can enjoy themselves — a place where children love to play and parents feel at ease. It took about a year and a half from the idea to the finished playroom.
The last 5 months were the most intensive, when something wonderful had to be created out of empty rooms.
We deeply value things that have a soul or a story to tell, which is why you'll find many upcycled treasures here. For example, the organ on the stage and the pink scale in the children's shop come from the Tõrva waste station; the abacus desk, a doll pram and a typewriter from a Võru antique shop; the theatre stage is actually made from the headboard of a bed from the Wagenküll hotel, and the wooden windows in the stairwell were, until recently, in the stairwell of Hotel De Tolly. The support beams in the stairwell ceiling and the green climbing ladders come from the old Patküla schoolhouse, and much more that we've managed to bring back to life — and the stuffed goshawk flying in the stairwell is at least 30 years old.
The original idea was to create a place that would make parents' everyday life at least a little simpler and easier.
From a laundry house to a playroom
It all started with a simple idea that Tõrva could have a lovely playroom to visit with the family in every season. We saw how much joy children get from a place where they can freely climb, run and imagine.
We built the dream with our own hands
Step by step, empty rooms became a colourful play world. Every roller track, little house and room has been thought through, crafted and finished so it's exciting and safe for children.

Today, Mulgi Mängula welcomes guests with its various areas, attractions and party room. We're constantly adding new and exciting things and are always happy to hear families' feedback.
Our wish is simple: that every visit leaves both child and parent with a good feeling.
